Reincarnation is Death Disguised

Religions claim to open the veil on death. Humans, being the only creature on this planet that knows it is going to die, occupy a great deal of time thinking about the death of themselves and the people they care about. Religion preys on this fear the same way the U.S. government has preyed on peoples fears of terrorism.

Although death unlike terrorism is inevitable, they both bring out the very base of animal self preservation instinct in us. Fear and anger are both very powerful motivators and can cause us to act in a way that is counter to the genetic program that arose to help protect us. Strong emotions and motivators are used by others to make people fall in line and give up their money by the worst amongst us.

The majority of people fall for the whole heaven shtick, but for those of you who find that whole thing too far fetched fear not we have a religion tailored just for you. Maybe Buddhism, Hinduism or Taoism are more your cup of tea. The problem though is what makes you you. Would you still be who you are without your memories, experiences or relationships? Personally I would have to say no. To lose these thing is if not exactly the same it is sure as hell similar to death. So how is it any better?

Heaven on the other hand is described to us as a magic happy land where all your dreams come true and you get to party with Jesus forever. How can heaven be heaven without everyone you care about? Does god make facsimiles? If so then God is a fraud and liar. Are you so full of joy and happiness that you forget your wife and kids? Or do you get to look down and watch over them? Sounds like a hell to me.
